[Thank you to all who attended and supported our seminar on ADHD. Deepening the understanding of ADHD is an important step in giving the right support and understanding to those who experience it.] - Juan Carlo Saquin (ADHD President).

The ADHD Society of the Philippines recently hosted 2 learning sessions last July 19, 2023 via Zoom and Facebook Live, in partnership with the National Council for Disability Affairs (NCDA) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). This is in participation for the 45th National Disability Prevention & Rehabilitation Week. The event, which took place on July 19, 2023, brought together parents, entrepreneurs, and individuals interested in understanding how to manage their ADHD. Below are the 2 sessions:

Track 1: Mental Health focused on "Empowering Children with ADHD: Parental Strategies for Advocacy, Accessibility and Rights"

Neurodevcoach Fiel John Meria talked about what ADHD is as well as misconceptions about the condition. Occupational Therapist Cesar Llanto III gave parental tips on how parents can manage their children with ADHD. SPED Practitioner Tina Halal explained how parents can advocate for the rights of children with ADHD in schools.

Track 2: Inclusive Entrepreneurship: Empowering PWDs Towards a Sustainable Business Landscape.

DTI Representative Jomel Lozada explained the details of how to register a business. Eloisa Isip of Small Business Corp offered an opportunity for small business owners to fund their businesses. Amrei Dizon talked about her experience as an entrepreneur with ADHD, followed by an engaging panel discussion with Juan Carlo Saquin of Angel Beats Playschool and Nadine Casiño of Modern Nanays of Mindanao.

It is hoped that the knowledge gained from the event will lead to positive changes in their respective lives and communities.

According to the ADHD Society of the Philippines organizers, the positive feedback received from attendees was overwhelming. "We are thrilled with the success of this event and are already planning our next one," said co-chairperson Sheena Peña. "Our goal is to continue to provide a platform for those with ADHD to learn, grow, and connect. There will be more events soon!" said co-chairperson Amrei Dizon
